The before

Everything lived on Instagram. No place to RSVP, no list of who showed up, nothing to show a sponsor.

What I built

One link per meet, and a path back to the crew.

Solace United homepage on a phone
Phone first.

Features

01One link per night

Each meet page goes from RSVP, to check-in, to photo recap.

Meet page for The Canopy, a night at the pumps in Pasadena

02Scan to check in

Riders scan a QR sign at the meet, and a crowd becomes a contact list.

03Faces, not just helmets

Eight rider portrait pages, each crediting the photographer.

The riders reel: portraits of Bunny, Safety Sam and Kit

04Test merch first

A waitlist, not a store, so nobody prints shirts on a guess.

Drop 01, Night Cats: two crewnecks and a hoodie with a waitlist

05Know what's working

Tracked links and a private dashboard show RSVPs, check-ins and clicks.

Followers: 1,019 to 1,123 launch week. Timing, not proof yet.

How it works

  1. Instagram post
  2. Meet or rider page
  3. RSVP or check-in
  4. Text list
  5. Photos, back to Instagram

A fast, dark, photo-first site with its own database and a private dashboard.

Technical details +

Design

  • Near-black page, cream type, one red from the bikes.
  • Smooth scroll, rising headlines, a pinned riders reel.
  • No gradients, shadows or bouncy motion. A script enforces it.
  • Works fully without motion or JavaScript.

Stack

  • Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind
  • GSAP + Lenis for motion
  • Postgres + Drizzle
  • Vercel + Railway

What I learned

  • —Ship, then listen. v1 felt wrong; the same-day redesign stuck.
  • —A site can't make a meet happen. It needs the next meet.

Run a club or crew? I'd love to hear how you keep people coming.
